Moselsteig side trips and Mosel dream trails
The side trails on the Upper and Middle Mosel, or dream trails as they are called in the area of the Terrace Mosel, are just as varied as the Moselsteig stages: Sometimes long, sometimes short, sometimes easy, sometimes difficult to hike. The dream paths are a special feature: They are designed as particularly easy and short walking trails.
Saar-Hunsrück Premium Hiking Region
The premium hiking regions certified by the German Hiking Institute are the vanguard of European hiking destinations. There, hikers are guaranteed a comprehensive hiking experience. Each premium hiking region fulfils criteria from 4 building blocks: Hiking offer, hiking information system, offer of hiking-friendly hosts, offer of guided hikes and events. All 23 core criteria and three optional criteria of each building block must be fulfilled.
The core of our hiking trails are the Saar-Hunsrück Climb as a premium long-distance hiking trail and the 111 Saar-Hunsrück Dream Loops as premium circular hiking trails.

Cycling along the Moselle
The Moselle Cycle Route covers around 310 kilometres and is divided into 10 stages. It covers the entire German course of the Moselle and also runs from Perl, on the German-French-Luxembourg border, to Thionville in France. The cycle path is mostly flat and asphalted and thus offers the best conditions for all ages. It combines German, French and Luxembourgian culture, which also makes it attractive for connoisseurs of good wine and food.

The Maare-Moselle Cycle Route takes cyclists along the former railway line through two remarkable regions: The impressive cultural landscapes of the Moselle and the Eifel. Magnificent maars, mighty viaducts, shady forests: a special kind of cycling pleasure. A practical cycling bus is also available for this cycle tour, which runs regularly between Bernkastel-Kues and Daun.
