In the town of Bernkastel-Kues, the five days around the first Sunday in September are something very special every year. This is when the Middle Moselle Wine Festival is held - right in the heart of the Moselle region. The highlights of the five-day wine festival include the reception of the Mosella (the town's wine queen), the grandiose wine street, the great fireworks festival, the magnificent wine festival parade, the Moselblümchen-meets-Winzerkittel evening, and the carnival. An extensive supporting programme with live music and a wine-tasting evening also guarantee a special festival. For wine connoisseurs from all over the world, the wine festival is a permanent fixture. And so, on the total of five wine festival days, almost 200,000 visitors come to the town on the Moselle, making the festival one of the largest in the Middle Moselle region.
